An exciting opportunity has arisen for a No 1 Mechanic to join our department in a dynamic and high-energy work environment.


About the Role

To manage all test car and assembly build activities, ensuring Technical Drawings and Bulletins are captured and adhered to, relevant spares are defined and available, and build schedules remain on track. Serve as a trackside vehicle build leader and coordinate the mechanics group for all test events.


What You Will Do

  • Vehicle Build & Assembly Management

    • Manage all test car and rig build activities, ensuring hardware is assembled correctly using Technical Drawings, Technical Bulletins, and Build Specification documentation.
    • Monitor and enforce adherence to agreed build schedules.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance

    • Ensure the Test team follows HSE policy in both trackside and factory environments (safety checks, signage, PPE).
    • Maintain safe running of the car at all times.
  • Parts & Hardware Management

    • Work with the Parts Co-ordinator to capture test hardware usage accurately for lifing software recording post-test/rig use.

  • Pit Equipment Responsibility

    • Maintain test team pit equipment availability and specification to ensure race-track information transfer.
  • Fault Reporting & Support

    • Record and monitor faults, escalating them to design and engineering as needed.
  • Track & Workshop Operations

    • Construct/dismantle garage and track setups as required.
    • Assist with air freight and truck packing logistics when necessary.
  • Workshop & Team Leadership

    • Champion best practice workshop operations, setting an example for junior and senior technicians.
    • Identify ways to improve department efficiency and staff performance.
  • Collaboration & Professional Standards

    • Foster strong relationships across all factory departments and personnel.
    • Maintain a high presentation standard for both staff and the department.
  • Initiative & Proactivity

    • Operate autonomously without constant direction.
    • Embrace a "can do" attitude, proactively assisting team members.
    • Meet deadlines and complete tasks within agreed timeframes.
  • Shift & Emergency Coverage

    • Occasional work outside normal hours required.
  • Adherence to Policy

    • Strict compliance with company health and safety protocols.

About You

We’re looking for a No 1 Mechanic with the following experience:

  • Previously operated as a #1 Mechanic in a world-class race/rally team.
  • Proven experience in managing varying workloads under pressure.
  • Advantageous familiarity with HV (High-Voltage) vehicle operating protocols.
  • Confident in using the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, OneNote, Word).
  • Held a full UK driving license.
