No 1 Mechanic - Jaguar TCS Racing

No 1 Mechanic – Jaguar TCS Racing

Jaguar TCS Racing is leading the charge in electric motorsport innovation within the Formula E Championship. As part of Jaguar's legendary motorsport heritage, our team is dedicated to advancing electric vehicle technology, sustainability, and performance. We blend passion, expertise, and cutting-edge innovation to strive for excellence in motorsport.

We are seeking an experienced No 1 Mechanic to join our dynamic team in the Jaguar TCS Racing department.

About The Role

The No 1 Mechanic will oversee all test car and assembly build activities, ensuring compliance with technical documentation while managing build schedules and teams on-track. Key responsibilities include:

  • Prioritising test car and rig build activities to ensure hardware is correctly assembled using Technical Drawings, Technical Bulletins and Build Specifications, with strict adherence to scheduled timelines.
  • Enforcing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies both on-track and at the factory, including safety checks, clear signage, and mandatory PPE compliance to guarantee safe operation.
  • Collaborating with the Parts Co-ordinator to accurately document test hardware usage, facilitating prompt recording in lifecycle management (lifing) software after every test event.
  • Maintaining test team pit equipment integrity—ensuring equipment is available, race-spec compliant, and transferable for smoother race-to-test knowledge sharing.
  • Reporting and escalating faults to design and engineering teams, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Assisting with track and workspace logistics, including garage assembly, breakdown processes, and occasional air freight or vehicle loading.
  • Championing workshop best practices—setting high standards for both junior and senior team members while fostering efficiency and process improvements.
  • Developing continuous improvement initiatives to refine individual and team performance.
  • Maintaining constructive relationships with factory departments and personnel while upholding departmental presentation standards.
  • Exhibiting self-reliance, a proactive mentality, and accountability, completing tasks on schedule (including occasional overtime).
  • Adhering to and actively promoting the company’s health and safety policies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
