No. 2 Mechanic Contractor - Non F1

No. 2 Mechanic Contractor – Non F1

Department: ASTON MARTIN Performance Technologies – AMPT Special Projects Employment Type: Contract / Temp Location: Silverstone

About the Role

We are seeking a short-term No. 2 Mechanic Contractor to immediately join Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT) and support our motorsport project until 30 September 2026. This non-F1 role focuses on assisting with mechanical assembly, fitment, maintenance, and repairs of project vehicles.

Best suited for candidates targeting an Inside IR35 contract, the position aligns applicants withißt solid trackside motorsport mechanic experience—though factory-based expertise will also be assessed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precision mechanics: Assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components on project cars in line with safety standards.
  • End-to-end event support:
    • Pre-event preparation
    • Attendance at live racing/events
    • Post-event rapid turnaround (repairs, diagnostics, supply replenishment)
  • Emergency/urgent responses: Hands-on solutions to on-track or field issues.
  • Logistical cohesion: Understanding direction from senior mechanics and translating into accurate on-car execution.
  • Facility responsibilities: General workshop maintenance (cleanliness, equipment stowage).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
