Description
We are looking for a No 2 Mechanic (Factory) to support the Build and Car Assembly department. You’ll work closely with the Race Team, Quality Group, and Production departments to ensure the highest standards of component assembly, reliability, and performance delivery. You will also contribute directly to race performance through pre- and post-event car build support and mechanical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Final assembly of components and mechanical projects within AMR.
- Complete pre- and post-event strip, service, and rebuilds of on and off-car assemblies
- Support the Race Team with full project lifecycle: preparation, delivery, and turnaround
- Assist with pre-season car builds through to final delivery and testing phases
- Service and maintain pit lane and garage equipment throughout the race season
- Report assembly faults to the Number 1 Mechanic and relevant Reliability Engineers
- Provide mechanical support at race events as required, including last-minute deployments
- Assist in the training and mentoring of Junior Mechanics within the AMR development system
- Participate in pit crew training sessions and contribute to ongoing performance improvements
- Support show car builds and maintain high standards for promotional vehicle preparation
- Be ready and willing to travel at short notice when required
- Support all logistics and organisational tasks linked to shipping and project turnaround
- Carry out any additional duties aligned with your role, as requested

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in Formula 1 or top-level motorsport in a similar role
- Recent and relevant trackside experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Calm and confident under pressure with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Highly motivated and team-oriented, with a commitment to collaborative success
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities
- Results-driven and decisive, with a can-do attitude
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Health & Safety standards
