Lead Platform Engineer & Head of Outcomes – NOC Engineering

About the Role
This is a critical role that will oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and optimization of our critical Voice & IP Platform/Network infrastructure.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the platform's stability, performance, and scalability to support our business objectives.
You will be reporting to the Head of Product & Voice Ops.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Overseeing the overall health, performance, and availability of our Core Platform/Network infrastructure
- Leading incident response and resolution, minimizing downtime and impact on users
- Continuously monitoring and optimizing platform performance through performance tuning and capacity adjustments
- Identifying opportunities to automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors
- Managing and developing a high-performing team of:
- Duty Managers
- Lead Platform Engineers
- Developing personal and team growth strategies for the NOC Engineering team
- Overseeing the integration of operational support functions into the broader NOC Engineering team
- Working closely with development, engineering, and other teams to ensure platform alignment with business goals
- Identifying and implementing strategies to improve service quality by enhancing current maintenance and troubleshooting processes
- Collaborating effectively – possessing excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and analytical skills
- Being an excellent team player with a proactive mindset, passionate about working together to achieve goals

What You’ll Bring
You don’t need experience in everything listed—but we’re particularly interested in candidates with some of the following:
✔ Previous experience managing a team responsible for managing & operating large-scale telco/IP networks ✔ Experience with planning, preparation, and implementation of configuration changes across:
- SBCs (Session Border Controllers)
- Juniper Routers
- Telco-grade PBX systems ✔ Experience with modern DevOps practices and tooling ✔ Developed and implemented training and development plans for teams and individuals ✔ Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving and changeable environment ✔ Self-starter with a proactive, highly organised approach ✔ Capable of working effectively at all organisational levels

Important Notes
- We require all candidates to be eligible to work in the UK and pass a basic DBS check.
- Role type: Hybrid – 3 days onsite from our Manchester office
