About The Role
TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Node Engineer to join a Tier 1 financial services organization on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in supporting the transition of a critical internal communications platform from a third-party vendor to internal ownership. The successful candidate will be a UK-based Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong technical expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Working in a hybrid environment, the Node Engineer will collaborate with international teams based in the UK, India, and China, ensuring a seamless handover and ongoing platform stability. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-profile project within a prestigious organization, contributing to the enhancement of internal communication infrastructure.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Node.js Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of relevant projects.
- Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript programming languages.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database management and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and architecture.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with international teams.
- Prior experience supporting platform transitions or similar change management initiatives is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in cloud technologies or backend development are advantageous.
- Availability to work in a hybrid setting, with a minimum of two days in the office per month, and able to start immediately or within a short notice period.
Responsibilities
- Provide SME-level technical support during the transition of the internal communications platform from a third-party vendor to internal management.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the UK, India, and China to facilitate a smooth handover process.
- Ensure platform stability, security, and performance throughout and after the transition period.
- Develop and implement best practices for platform maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in documenting technical procedures, configurations, and architecture for future reference and ongoing support.
- Participate in regular project meetings, providing expert insights and updates on progress and challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the platform's functionality and reliability.
