Partnering with Inclusion Healthcare CIC
A not-for-profit social enterprise, Inclusion Healthcare CIC delivers primary healthcare and support services to asylum seekers, those experiencing homelessness, and other marginalised communities across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
Established in 2010, our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality care tailored to those facing complex health and social challenges. We operate:
- Two GP practices in Leicester City Centre
- A Hub in Loughborough
- No.5 Recovery Hub (Leicester), supporting recovery from substance use
Our team collaborates with local agencies and community services to ensure integrated and person-centred care. We thrive as an organisation driven by social impact, equity, and inclusion in healthcare.
About the Role
We seek a Non-Executive Director (Clinical) to provide independent clinical leadership, oversight, and strategic guidance to ensure our care remains safe, effective, and compassionate.
This role demands expertise in clinical assurance: you will:
- Offer the clinical voice on our Board, ensuring oversight of quality, safety, and governance
- Bring professional credibility and a patient-centred perspective
- Support the Board in scrutinising clinical performance, risk, and decisions tied to our new contract
- Guarantee that care priorities remain at the heart of everything we do

Candidate Profile
We’re searching for a values-driven senior clinician with the judgement and independence to provide high-level clinical oversight. You should:
- Have senior clinical background (e.g., GP, Nurse, Allied Health Professional (AHP), or other senior primary/community clinician) with:
- Current or recent clinical registration in good standing (e.g., GMC, HCPC, or NMC)
- Demonstrated strong connection to patient care
- Show central expertise in:
- Clinical governance
- Quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management (preferably in primary/community settings)
- Regulatory experience (e.g., how the Care Quality Commission (CQC) operates)
- Confidently operate as a Non-Executive Director:
- Offer constructive challenge and strategic advice
- Stay within the boundaries of non-executive oversight vs. executive management
- Display excellent interpersonal skills, fostering trusted relationships with our small, dedicated team

Time Commitment and Terms
This unpaid role requires 1–2 days/month, including:
- Board and sub-committee meetings
- Preparation and engagement, including occasional clinical governance input
- External contributions when required
