Non Executive Director
Overview
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Non-Executive Director to join the Board of Broadway Malyan, an international design company operating across Masterplanning, Architecture and Interior Design.
The business is looking for an individual who can provide independent challenge, strategic guidance, and genuine industry insight, with particular relevance to growing businesses in design, built environment, real estate or related professional services.
This appointment is intended to strengthen the Board as the company enters its next phase of growth, with a focus on international market expansion, commercial performance, and scalable governance.
Key Areas of Contribution
The NED is expected to add value in the following areas:
- Growth strategy: advising on international expansion, market entry, diversification, and strategic priorities
- Commercial performance: supporting revenue growth, profitability, margin discipline, and key client development
- Sector / industry insight: bringing knowledge of design, built environment, real estate or related professional services.
- Leadership support: acting as a sounding board to the CEO and executive team through the next stage of growth
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Senior executive and/or Board experience in design, built environment, real estate or related professional services.
- Proven experience of growing and scaling a business, business unit, or region via strategic development, market expansion, partnerships, acquisitions, or service-line growth
- Experience in an international business
- Clear understanding of the role of a Non-Executive Director and effective Board governance

Desirable
- Prior Non-Executive Director experience
- Understanding of how fast-paced change in technology is affecting the industry
- Understanding of how to optimise people and talent strategies to drive growth
- Knowledge of built-environment trends including sustainability, digital engineering, or decarbonisation

- Former or current CEO / MD / divisional leader in a design, engineering or real estate consultancy
- Senior executive from a multidisciplinary design or project delivery business
- NED or Chair with relevant sector and growth experience
- Commercial or strategy leader with strong Board exposure in the built environment sector
