Security Officer
We are looking for a professional and dependable Security Officer to join our team in Birmingham with the responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of our clients, visitors, and staff while delivering a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol the premises
- Manage access control
- Respond promptly to incidents
- Maintain a visible and reassuring presence
- Provide a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience
You’ll also assist with:
- Deterring unauthorised activity or entry
- Offering advice and assistance to staff, visitors, and contractors
- Protecting premises, property, and personnel from theft, damage, and violence
- Patrolling the building to prevent fire, flood, theft, and damage
- Providing access to the premises (as instructed)
- Offering first aid response
- Issuing and logging keys, ensuring their security
- Monitoring and operating security systems (access control, intruder, fire alarms)
- Completing incident reports and escalating issues promptly
- Directing and assisting visitors
- Covering the reception desk when needed
- Conducting weekly checks of fire exits and intruder alarm systems
- Complying with site security instructions, policies, and emergency procedures

- Role: Security Officer
- Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
- Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off (42 hours per week)
- Location: Birmingham B1 2JB

Requirements
Essential
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence (CCTV licence desirable)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience within a similar position is preferred
- A checkable 5-year work history
