R&D Technologist | £30,000–£40,000 | Food Manufacturing
Have you spent time in a bakery and wondered what comes next?
This is your chance to take your hands-on baking skills and build a career creating the next generation of bakery products for some of the biggest names in food.
We're looking for a passionate baker or bakery graduate who is naturally curious, loves experimenting with ingredients and wants to move from making products to developing them.
This is an incredible opportunity to join a growing, innovative food manufacturer where you'll work alongside experienced NPD professionals, suppliers and customers to bring exciting new products from concept through to supermarket shelves.
What you'll be doing
- Creating exciting new bakery concepts from scratch
- Testing new ingredients and baking technologies
- Working hands-on in the development kitchen producing prototypes
- Improving existing recipes to enhance quality, reduce waste and improve cost
- Collaborating with Procurement, Technical, Production and Commercial teams
- Presenting new ideas to internal teams and customers
- Supporting factory trials and seeing your products launched into production

We're looking for someone who...
- Has at least 12 months' bakery experience or a bakery qualification
- Loves baking and enjoys experimenting with ingredients
- Is naturally creative and full of ideas
- Wants to learn and develop a long-term career in food manufacturing
- Enjoys solving problems and thinking differently
- Is organised and can manage multiple projects
- Has excellent communication skills and enjoys working with people

A Food Science or Food Technology qualification would be advantageous but isn't essential if you have strong bakery knowledge and the right attitude.
