Bakery NPD Technologist – Coventry
Are you a creative baker with strong NPD experience and a passion for bringing new products to life? Guenther Bakeries is looking for a hands-on Bakery NPD Technologist to join our Product Development team in Coventry.
In this role, you will develop new bakery recipes and product samples, manage our Bakery Centre of Excellence and support products from customer brief through to plant trials and launch. You will work closely with NPD, Technical, Procurement, Commercial and Production teams to turn ideas into high-quality, commercially viable bakery products.

What you’ll be doing
- Creating and developing new bakery products in response to customer briefs and market trends.
- Preparing samples, running taste panels, supporting benchmarking and leading first plant test runs.
- Managing development records to support allergens, costing, compliance and production handover.
- Working cross-functionally to support successful trials, launches and continuous product improvement.

- Essential craft bakery experience and previous NPD, sample development or bakery manufacturing experience.
- Strong knowledge of bakery ingredients, recipes, processes and product quality standards.
- A creative, organised and detail-focused approach with strong communication skills.
- Confidence working collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced development environment.
