Your role
Mission for this role is to facilitate the implementation of new designs as a part of a product roadmap. Primarily interacting with vendors, engineering, and purchasing, the NPI Project Engineer will drive new product development ensuring the design meets serviceability, performance, and cost targets as driven from marketing requirement specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Estimate timelines, budgets, and technical risks for NPI projects.
- Identify dependencies, risks, and mitigation actions to support project plans.
- Track technical progress and escalate schedule, cost, or performance issues.
Requirements & Product Development
- Translate Marketing Requirements into clear Product/Engineering Specifications.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
- Support design reviews to confirm compliance with functional, regulatory, and customer needs.
Testing & Experimental Development
- Plan and run experiments/tests to inform product design and decisions.
- Use appropriate test equipment and work with the lab manager to validate performance and safety.
- Analyse test data and present clear conclusions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete, accurate Technical Construction Files (TCF).
- Support creation of manuals, safety documentation, and regulatory submissions (e.g., CE, UL).
- Prepare formal test reports documenting objectives, methods, setups, results, and conclusions.

External Partners & Supplier Engagement
- Evaluate and onboard third‑party development partners.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with external suppliers.
- Coordinate technical communication, data exchange, and performance oversight.

Do You Have
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years’ experience interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Strong understanding of experimental design, testing, and data analysis.
- Experience with electro‑mechanical system design/customisation; thermal systems experience is a plus.
- Semiconductor industry experience advantageous.
- Knowledge of material selection for performance, environment, and certification needs.
- 3D CAD modelling desired; SAP experience a plus.
- Hands‑on experience with testing, thermal or fluid systems, piping, or related hardware beneficial.
- Skilled at working cross‑functionally across engineering, marketing, quality, supply chain, and external partners.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Able to plan, estimate, and report on work progress.
- Structured, analytical thinker and effective team player.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Other Requirements
- Based in Clevedon, UK.
- Willing to travel (including international) at least once per year for multi‑day customer site support.
- Able to lift 20 lbs, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, and walk several miles as needed.
