Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) and European Resuscitation Council (ERC)-aligned training sessions for current and future staff.
  • Follow established training guidelines, paperwork completion, and assessment protocols.
  • Ensure high standards of safety and equity for all training candidates:
    • Regularly inspect and maintain all training equipment.
    • Provide equal opportunity for all learners.
    • Escalate equipment or compliance issues to the General Manager.
  • Demonstrate a strong ethics focus: safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
    • Uphold rigorous criminal record checks (DBS) if applicable.
    • Commit to our safeguarding policies and reporting procedures.

Requirements

You must meet the following criteria to excel in this role:

  • Relevant professional experience:

  • Previous experience in an Nationally-rated Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) training capacity.

  • Qualifications and competence: Capable of attending candidates in rescue, resuscitation, and pool safety, certified via:

    • Royal Lifesaving Society UK (RLSS) and European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
    • Employer-specific qualifications required by Places for People Leisure.
  • Engagement and commitment:

    • A passion for delivering high-energy, engaging training in line with programme and policy compliance (never compromising safety or guidance).
  • People skills:

    • Friendly, approachable, and adept at inspiring confidence in learners of all ages.
    • Ability to articulate and adapt interactions for maximum benefit during sessions.
