Assistant Lawyer – Employment Rights

Department: Employment Rights Location: Manchester (office base near Birmingham for clients) Compensation: £34,709 per annum Application Deadline: 16 July 2026

About the Role

Open to newly qualified (NQ) or 0–2-year post-qualified experience (PQE) candidates seeking to advance their career in employment rights law.

As an Assistant Lawyer, you will:

  • Independently manage a caseload of your own complex employment rights cases under close supervision.
  • Support existing cases, demonstrating sound case management judgement and theoretical knowledge.
  • Develop expertise through collaboration with experienced legal professionals.
  • Take cases from inception through to resolution, ensuring strong outcomes for clients.
  • Act as a valuable team member, contributing to team goals and excellence in client service.

This role is ideal for motivated, client-focused lawyers ready to grow in a supportive environment specialising in employment law.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified lawyer (Solicitor or equivalent) with 0–2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong track record in meeting tight deadlines.
  • Theoretical and practical competence in employment law essential.
  • Commitment to client-focused outcomes and a collaborative approach.

  • Excellent judgement for case progress.
  • Ability to independently develop caseloads while seeking guidance.
