Assistant Lawyer – Employment Rights

About the Role
PQE 0–2 years wealth of experience? Looking for your next exciting step? Our Employment Rights team, based in Manchester, are seeking qualified Assistant Lawyers to join their high-performing team.
Currently in demand, the role offers a NQ–PQE opportunity with hands-on experience managing your own caseload and assisting on complex cases. With clear supervision, this role is perfect for building expertise across a diverse range of employment rights issues.
You’ll collaborate with senior professionals, enhancing your theoretical knowledge while honing judgement skills. Your contribution will directly support case progression from inception to resolution, ensuring excellent client outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Independently manage your own caseload while contributing to existing employment rights matters
- Develop expertise across the full spectrum of employment law, from case strategy through to client resolution
- Work collaboratively with experienced lawyers to refine legal judgement and analytic skills
- Support case development, drafting, and holistic client representation
- Ensure adherence to deadlines and high standards of case management
- Contribute to achieving team objectives while embedding strong client care values
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor (SRA qualified) with:
- 0-2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in employment rights, or related specialisms
- Proven ability to deliver against tight deadlines
- A passionate approach towards client-centered advocacy and care
- Strong academic foundation (e.g. law degree or LPC qualifications) with hands-on employment law exposure
- Judgment and discretion in managing cases requiring supervisory support
