About the Role
Newly Qualified (NQ) or early Post-Qualified Experience (PQE, ideally 0 – 2 years) looking for your next career step? Our Employment Rights team in Manchester is seeking Assistant Lawyers to join a successful team and make your mark.
This role offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload while assisting with complex employment rights cases—under experienced supervision—to gain hands-on experience across the full spectrum of case management.
Key responsibilities include demonstrating sound theoretical knowledge, strong judgement, and the ability to support and progress cases from inception to resolution. You’ll work alongside seasoned legal professionals, developing your expertise in employment law while playing a crucial role in achieving team goals and delivering exceptional client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage an independent caseload of employment rights cases, with guidance from experienced supervisors.
- Assist in handling complex employment disputes, covering all stages from intake to trial or settlement.
- Develop andapply analytical and legal reasoning skills to provide robust solutions.
- Collaborate closely with senior lawyers to ensure high-quality legal representation.
- Strengthen relationships with clients through an empathic and proactive approach.
- Progress meaningful legal outcomes while meeting strict deadlines.
Requirements
We are looking for qualified lawyers with:
- Experience in handling employment rights claims (ideally 0 – 2 years post-qualification).
- A proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage caseloads efficiently.
- An understanding of client care, paired with a passion for supporting employees' rights.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
