Why Join Us?
We are seeking a highly motivated Solicitor with expertise in Clinical Negligence to join our Healthcare Team, focusing on representing Defendants, primarily working with NHS Resolution.
The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of Clinical Negligence NHSR cases, including supporting group litigation cases, while providing expert legal advice and representation.
This is a hybrid role with flexible office attendance options. We welcome applications from candidates based near the following office locations:
- Manchester
- Liverpool
- Leeds
- Birmingham
- Bristol
- Southampton
- London
Candidates with a background in Claimant cases will be considered.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of high-value Defendant clinical negligence matters, from inception to resolution.
- Providing expert legal advice on claims, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating case documents.
- Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis to guide case strategy and decision-making.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence.
- Liaising with clients, medical professionals, and experts to gather necessary evidence.
- Attending court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations as required.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Healthcare Team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Identifying Business Development opportunities with NHS Resolution and Trust clients.
- Supporting Trust client care matters as necessary.

What Will Help You Succeed?
Ideally, the successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- 1+ years' Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in NHS Resolution Clinical Negligence cases (desirable).
- Extensive knowledge and experience in handling complex Defendant clinical negligence cases.
- Previous experience in Group Litigation preferred.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
