Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The Royal Marsden Hospital is Europe’s largest Oncology centre, with sites in Chelsea and Sutton. The Nuclear Medicine Department (Nuc Med, PET/CT, Therapies) at our Sutton site is seeking an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual.

### About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the department’s patient-focused mission, ensuring high-quality care is delivered.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
  • Show an aversion for stagnation, embracing learning and growth in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging services.

A qualified Nuclear Medicine technician is essential. Full PET/CT training (where needed) will be provided. The ideal candidate will contribute to maintaining and enhancing imaging excellence, primarily based at the Sutton site.


### Responsibilities

Providing timely, efficient, and courteous Nuclear Medicine/PET services, including:

  • Collaborating with NHS trusts across wards, theatre teams, and administrative departments.
  • Building key working relationships with imaging, medical, clerical, and nursing teams.
  • Having significant patient contact, including:
    • Managing complex cases involving terminal illness.
    • Interacting with unconscious, incapacitated, confused, or disabled patients requiring specialised care.

### Qualifications & Experience

  • Mandatory:
    • Qualified Nuclear Medicine practitioner background.
  • Desirable:
    • Proven experience in a clinical or coaching mentorship role.
    • Experience of PET/CT services is advantageous (although training will be provided).
