Salary range: £50,000 per annum - £60,000 depending on skills and experience. Location: Remote / Hybrid Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Occam Group, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home. Job Description As part of our growing nuclear business, we are seeking established Nuclear Safety Consultants with particular experience of leading the development of safety cases for civil nuclear and / or naval nuclear applications. This is a fantastic opportunity for self-starters to join a growing company that already has an excellent reputation for delivery. The successful candidate will be integral in helping to shape a growing company. Duties to include Supporting the development of nuclear safety justification strategies under the guidance of senior team members. Undertaking detailed hazard and risk analyses, including Deterministic, Probabilistic, and Severe Accident Safety Assessments, for defined scopes of work. Applying nuclear safety requirements and contributing to evidence demonstrating compliance. Producing inputs to safety cases and risk management plans. Supporting independent safety assurance activities and internal reviews. Contributing to periodic safety reviews of systems and facilities. Assisting with regulatory interactions through preparation of technical material and responses. Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and partner organisations to deliver project objectives. Essential Requirements Educated to degree level (or equivalent) preferably in a related technical discipline. Demonstrable knowledge of Nuclear Authorising Conditions and / or Licensing Conditions. Strong customer focus with an ability to develop creative commercial strategies for the successful contracting of new work. Desirable Requirements Chartered Status with UK Engineering Council. Consultancy experience. SC and / or DV security clearance. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced nuclear safety professionals. You will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
