Nurse Analyst – Hybrid Working | Legal Medical Records | Medical Law Services
Salary: £35,000pa
Location: Hybrid (Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Southport) We offer flexible hybrid working practices—balancing home work with collaboration in our modern offices.
Working Hours: 35 hours/week (Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm) Working Pattern: 2 days in office, negotiable unless exceptional circumstances apply.
About the Role
Medical Law Services (MLS) is seeking a dedicated Nurse Analyst to join our growing specialist team, applying your clinical expertise in a dynamic legal setting.
Purpose of the Role
- Assess potential cases based on initial information, identifying required medical records and documents.
- Conduct detailed medico-legal reviews of records, pagination, and chronicology for case evaluation.
- Provide Opinions of Merit (OOMs) to support the legal team’s investigations.
Key focus areas:
- Case assessment (evaluating plausibility, causation, and breach of duty).
- Record management (sorting, analysing, and retrieving medical files).
- Document preparation (paginated, integrated reports with AI tools).
- GDPR compliance (identifying sensitive data).
- Quality progression (elevating to Risk Assessment 1s).

Main Responsibilities
- Medical record analysis: Scanner/document retrieval and structural review (pagination, missing data).
- Opinion drafting: Prepare Opinions of Merit and explicit chronological analyses tailored for litigation.
- Information extraction: Identify key breach-causation evidence.
- Compliance & improvement: Audit practice for GDPR compliance and clinical defence improvements.
- learning journey: Collaborate interdisciplinarily (supports structured progression to risk tiers).
Skills & Experience
Essential
✔ Nursing qualification + 3+ years’ posts in NHS/public care (ိ�TBD ழshe’s not looking for NICN/RN staff). ✔ Medical record literacy: Familiarity with key terminology and systems. ✔ Attention to detail: High accuracy in document categorisation/listing (e.g., search recovery, annotations). ✔ Analytical critical-thinking: Assessing standard-of-care plausibility/causation. ✔ Communication: Candidate must write/disseminate case insights clearly, prioritising precision while remaining constructive. ✔ Digital literacy: Comfort with AI-assisted data tools, tailored reports, and keyword searches.

Highly Valued (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience in medico-legal, legal support services, or auditory/clinical roles.
- Existing handle of Microsoft 365, Adobe, + emerging platforms.
