Medical Law Service – Nurse Analyst (Hybrid Working)

Location We operate across England, with current offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and Southport. Enjoy hybrid and flexible working benefits, blending remote work with in-office collaboration and team socials in our modern offices.

Hours 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am–5:00pm.

  • Hybrid model: 2 days on-site (adjustable upon request)

About the Role

Medical Law Services (MLS) is seeking a Nurse Analyst to join our growing MLS Nurse Team. In this dynamic role, you’ll apply your clinical expertise in a legal setting—assessing case merits, advisory roles, and expert review of medical records. Flexibility, well-being, and career growth are central to our supportive workplace.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct case merit assessments based on initial data, advising on required medical records and documents
  • Review and page, categorise, and chronologise clinical records in digital formats
  • Draft Opinion of Merit (OOM) reports for the legal team
  • Prepare paginations (selective, date-ranged, and full) using IT tools, including evolving AI assistance
  • Research medicolegal elements and apply professional guidelines
  • Maintain GDPR-compliant handling of sensitive patient data
  • Develop Risk Assessment 1 capabilities over time
  • Collaborate with colleagues in remote and office environments

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ post-registration experience in NHS/clinical nursing roles
  • Proficient medical records understanding
  • Strong ability to organise and adhere to precision work
  • Exceptional analytical skills and acute attention to detail
  • Clear communication (with stakeholders, remotely/in-person)
  • Team collaboration, adaptability, and proactive initiative
  • GDPR awareness and audit experience
  • Resourcefulness in disputed liability/risk assessment tasks
