Role Overview
Salary: £35,000 per annum
- Multi-site office locations: Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and Southport
- Hybrid working model: 2 days in the office weekly (negotiable)
- 35 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm, with hybrid flexibility)
- Dedicated Learning and Development team to support career progression

Purpose of the Role
The Nurse Analyst evaluates medico-legal claims to:
- Assess initial case merit and identify required medical records/documentation
- Perform detailed reviews of medical records, paganisation, and chronology
- Deliver expert Opinions of Merit (OOM) to legal teams on case prospects
- Collaborate as part of a specialist team, leveraging AI tools and evolving software

What You’ll Bring to MLS
Essential
- 3+ years’ NHS/clinical practice post-registration experience as a registered nurse
- Profound understanding of medical records organisation
- Demonstrated analytical and organisational capabilities
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability — both remote and on-site
- Proven ability to manage workload under pressure, maintaining high accuracy
- Working knowledge of audits and applying findings effectively
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft/Adobe software suites
- Familiarity with AI/advanced medico-legal tools
Key Responsibilities

Case Analysis
- Review medical records, documentation, and breach of duty/causation
- Identify key GDPR considerations and sensitive data issues

Document Preparation
- Craft Opinions of Merit (OOM) and chronologies for legal assessments
- Generate pagation in digital formats (light/detailed/full) using relevant IT tools

Research & Compliance
- Study medico-legal guidelines and case parameters
- Utilise GDPR principles for secure documentation handling
