Nurse Manager

The Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nurse agency and the delivery of complex care packages in the community. This role ensures safe, effective, and person-centred care while maintaining regulatory compliance, managing staff, and supporting business growth.

Requirements

Clinical Leadership & Governance

  • Provide strong clinical leadership across all agency and complex care services
  • Ensure all care delivered meets current clinical standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct clinical audits, risk assessments, and implement quality improvement plans
  • Act as the clinical escalation point for complex cases and incidents

Complex Care Management

  • Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex care packages
  • Develop and review person-centred care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (GPs, consultants, therapists, commissioners)
  • Ensure safe management of clinical interventions

Staff Management & Development

  • Recruit, train, and supervise nurses and healthcare staff
  • Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and competency assessments
  • Ensure all staff maintain up-to-date clinical skills and mandatory training
  • Manage rotas to ensure safe staffing levels and continuity of care
  • Participate in "out of hour" requirements

Agency Operations

  • Oversee daily agency operations, including staffing coordination and client allocation
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, families, and commissioners
  • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and partnerships
  • Ensure efficient service delivery aligned with organisational goals

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding requirements
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
  • Lead investigations into incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns
  • Prepare for inspections and ensure readiness for regulatory reviews

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the key point of contact for clients, families, and external professionals
  • Provide clear and effective communication across all levels of the organisation
  • Promote a culture of openness, professionalism, and continuous improvement
