Job Overview
We are excited to offer a permanent, full-time position in Tunbridge Wells for an experienced nurse to join our dedicated health support team at AXA Health. If you're a passionate nurse looking for a rewarding role, seize this unique opportunity to make a real difference.
Our Health Support Team operates a specialist medical helpline 24/7, staffed by nurses, midwives, counsellors, and pharmacists. The team delivers expert advice to our members in times of need, offering reassurances, support, and suitable direction to ease concerns and bring peace of mind, even in critical moments.
As part of this dynamic team, you’ll:
- Deliver expert medical guidance
- Provide ongoing support with all necessary tools, continued training, and tailored professional development to meet your registration requirements.
- Make a meaningful impact on people’s lives
Key Responsibilities
- Provide empathetic guidance and support on health-related issues for members and their families
- Maintain our helplines (inbound and outbound telephone calls, emails, text messages, and live chat) including support during evenings, nights, and weekends
- Utilise the online booking platform to assist members in scheduling appointments
- Help members access the best specialist or medical services in a timely manner
- Act as a clinical expert and role model, providing specialist knowledge, support, and relationships management
- Engage in team, department, and organisational goals, actively finding ways to contribute and achieve collective targets
- Own development, enhancing clinical skills and advancing professional expertise

Work Arrangements
At AXA, we prioritise flexibility and empower employees to balance responsibilities between home and office. After the training period, you’ll primarily work remotely due to the nature of this role — with a mandated requirement to attend the Tunbridge Wells office once every four weeks. Occasionally, additional office days may arise.
For remote working, ensure you can dedicate:

Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Our 24/7 support model requires shifts that include day-working nights, weekends, and occasional early morning shifts, all offering additional shift allowances alongside your basic salary.
Induction & Training
Before joining, expect a two-week induction period at the Tunbridge Wells office:

- Work schedule during induction: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Once completed, the remaining induction items will be handled remotely.
Your Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Registered Adult Nurse (RN)
- Current NMC registration (Nursing & Midwifery Council)
- Nursing qualification (diploma/degree): ideal is a BSc in Nursing
- Substantive clinical experience post-registration
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Intuitive relationship management and mediation abilities
- Conference IT proficiency, including experience with social media
Desirable:
- Midwifery certification
Employment Criteria
You must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This role falls under the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) framework, mandating:
- Pre-employment screening checks
- Annual declarations (with repeated background screening every 4 years)
- DBS check (Advanced)
