ADHD Direct Ltd is the leading independent ADHD and Autism service in Scotland, dedicated to providing individuals and families with high-quality, person-centered care. The team is highly experienced in supporting people with ADHD and Autism to achieve their full potential in daily life, education, and work. Services include comprehensive assessment and diagnosis, prescribing, and ongoing treatment tailored to each person’s needs. ADHD Direct Ltd also offers coaching and develops online courses to extend support beyond clinical appointments, ensuring accessible, continuous care for patients and their families.
Role Description
This on-site Nurse Practitioner role is based in the Greater Glasgow Area. The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct clinical care to individuals with ADHD and Autism, including conducting assessments, participating in diagnostic processes, and supporting treatment plans under relevant clinical protocols and guidelines.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Medication management and prescribing (within scope of practice)
- Monitoring treatment effectiveness
- Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary team members such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and coaches
- Communicating with patients and families to provide education on conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Contributing to service improvement initiatives

The Nurse Practitioner will also support the development of care pathways and may contribute to patient resources or training materials used in coaching and online courses.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner (or equivalent advanced practice nurse qualification) with the appropriate UK regulatory body (e.g., NMC) and eligibility to prescribe within scope of practice.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health, neurodevelopmental disorders, or community psychiatry, ideally including work with individuals diagnosed with ADHD and Autism.
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills, including the ability to gather comprehensive histories, interpret clinical information, and contribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic decision-making.
- Proficiency in medication management, treatment planning, and monitoring outcomes, with a focus on safety, evidence-based practice, and person-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, provide clear psychoeducation, and work sensitively with patients, families, and caregivers from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective collaboration skills for working within a multidisciplinary team and coordinating care across clinical, coaching, and online support services.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities, including accurate record-keeping, time management, and adherence to clinical governance and safeguarding standards.
- Commitment to continuous professional development, openness to learning about emerging evidence in ADHD and Autism care, and engagement in service improvement or quality initiatives.
