Education:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Degree.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Licensure in the State of Florida as APRN/RN or Physician Assistant.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification, for Health Care Provider.
  • ACLS Certification.
  • PALS Certification.
  • Demonstrates high-quality case management abilities and clinical competency.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in OR working as a first assist. Preferably in the Pediatrics field.

Position Summary

The APRN/PA works in collaboration with physicians and other patient care team members, in an active practice to deliver health care services to patients and families. Provides direct patient care. Performs procedures and prescribes medications under protocol. Provides patient education and counseling. Participates in the marketing, evaluation, and growth at JMC. The position will support the physician plus assisting as first assist in the OR. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Hand and Wrist (Test both left and right sides):
    • Grip a dynamometer for 10 seconds with a force greater than 25 lbs.
    • Pinch together the thumb & forefinger for 10 seconds with a force greater than 5 lbs.
  • Supported Elbows (Test both left and right sides):
    • Rotate wrist from left to right while holding 10 lb. weight.
    • Fully flex and extend elbow while holding a 10 lb. weight.
  • Shoulders (Test both left and right sides):
    • Raise shoulder 135 degrees forward flexion while holding 10 lb. weight.
    • Shrug shoulders while holding 10 lb. weight in each hand.
  • Legs:
    • Squat.
    • Kneel on a single knee, demonstrated on either left or right knee.
  • Push and Pull:
    • Push a stationary loaded cart with a pushing force of 40 lbs.
    • Pull a stationary loaded cart with a pulling force of 40 lbs.
  • Carrying:
    • Carry a 10 lb. weight for up to 30 feet.
  • Lifting:
    • Floor to Table/Table to Floor (20 lbs. requirement)
    • Table to above shoulder height (10 lbs. requirement)
