Nurse Trainer - Medical Law Services (MLS)
Location Hybrid policy – able to travel to one of our office locations:
- Manchester
- Southport
- Liverpool
- Leeds
Contract Internal applicants: 6-month secondment External applicants: fixed-term
Hours 35 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm)
Salary £35,000
About the Role
At Medical Law Services (MLS), part of Fletchers Solicitors Group, we’re seeking a Nurse Trainer to join our growing team. This role combines clinical expertise with teaching skills to support nurses in delivering high-quality services and informed decisions.
As a Nurse Trainer, you’ll:
- Lead training initiatives that enhance skills and competency across the team
- Model professional growth and lifelong learning behaviours
- Develop and deliver educational programmes aligned with healthcare standards and NICE guidelines
- Support new starters through provision.
- Mentor junior staff and nurture a culture of continuous improvement
Core Responsibilities
- Support new starter training and assisting through a 12-week probationary period
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes
- Build and maintain training reference guidelines, documentation, and best practice resources
- Assist with internal AI tools (e.g., MeRMAIDD) for er trainees and Nurse Analysts
- Serve as a mentor and role model, fostering professional excellence
- Deliver classroom training sessions to reinforce legal nursing standards and modifications to healthcare law
- Stay updated on laws governing documentation, causation, and nursing practice

Key Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ post-qualification experience in NHS/clinical practice
- 6–12 months experience working in pagination (legal injury assessments)
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations in a training setting
- Strong organisation, adaptability, and resilience to manage high-pressure environments
- Proven ability to work collaboratively remotely and in teams
- Legally compliant with information/data handling in clinical negligence cases
Desirable Attributes
- Proven experience with Proclaim or similar evi-digital legal software (e.g., Espinet, Medilinksi, MeRMAIDD)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related digital tools
- Background in nursing education or organised professional teaching
