Nurse Trainer – Medical Law Services (MLS)

Location: Hybrid policy – Able to travel to Manchester, Southport, Liverpool or Leeds

Contract Type:

  • Internal applicants: 6-month secondment
  • External applicants: Fixed-term

Hours: 35 per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm) Salary: £35,000

  • Driving vision through learning and development
  • Ensuring skills competencies align with team needs
  • Developing and delivering educational programmes to enhance nursing experience, knowledge, and decision-making
  • Combining clinical expertise with teaching skills to equip nurses for high-quality service delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • New Starter Onboarding: Support nurses and Nurse Analysts during the 12-week probation period
  • Training Evaluation: Assess and improve training effectiveness
  • Documentation: Build and maintain reference guides, how-to manuals, and training resource libraries
  • AI Tools: Facilitate use of internal platforms (e.g. MeRMIADD)
  • Mentorship: Serve as a role model, fostering a culture of professional growth
  • Compliance & Specialised Knowledge:
    • Ensure classroom training aligns with healthcare standards
    • Stay updated on legal liability (e.g. breach, causation)
    • Maintain up-to-date nursing practice expertise in line with NICE guidelines

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Exceptional presentation and training delivery skills
  • Highly motivated, organised, and proactive
  • Ability to handle pressure while maintaining high standards
  • Experience working remotely and collaboratively in teams
  • Minimum 3–5 years post-qualification clinical/experience in NHS or private practice
  • Registered with the NMC
  • 6–12 months experience in pagination (medical records review)

  • Proficiency in Proclaim software, Excel, or MeRMAIDD
