An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pre-Operative Assessment (POA) team at Ysbyty Gwynedd (YGC). This Band 6 role involves working within a well-established team, supported by a wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), to deliver high-quality patient care.
Main Duties of the Job
- Assess, optimise, and prepare patients prior to surgery to ensure they are fit for anaesthesia and the planned procedure.
- Minimise risks and reduce avoidable cancellations.
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; however, English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
English Experience
- Essential Criteria – Sufficient experience within surgery.
- Desirable Criteria – Phlebotomy experience.
Qualifications & Training
- Essential Criteria –
- Degree trained;
- Experience/competency in reviewing diagnostic results, such as ECGs and blood tests.
- Desirable Criteria –
- Prior experience in Pre-Operative Assessment (POA);
- Completion of a clinical examination/diagnostics module;
- Experience analysing ECG results and identifying abnormalities.
