Nursery Apprentice Role
Location: Heron Park Primary Academy, Hampden Park, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN22 9EE Working Pattern: Full-time, Term-time only (37.5 hours per week) Fixed-term: 15 months Salary: Pro rata (due to part-time/term-time-only basis) Closing Date: Monday 06 July 2026

Job Description
About the Role
Heron Park Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Apprentice on a fixed-term, term-time-only basis. You could be the next educator who will inspire young minds and help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.

- Provide safe, stimulating, and nurturing care to young children

Person Specification
Key Responsibilities
- Work harmoniously with a team to deliver an excelent early years provision
- Supervise, support, and facilitate play-based learning activities for young children
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment (safeguarding務 responsibilities apply)
- Assist with the implementation of the EYFS Framework
- Create engaging, inclusive learning experiences aligned with the ** berbacetic philosophy**
- Support a range of daily routines including meals, personal care, and rest times
- Involve children in constructive play, creative tasks, and planned activities
- Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals (e.g., safeguarding, SENCO)
- Contribute to school-wide improvement goals
Requirements
- Essential:
- Motivated individuals seeking to begin a career in early years education
- Passionate about fostering young children’s development and well-being
- Confident in working as part of a team, with flexibility and commitment
- Desirable:
- Basic understanding of age-appropriate learning activities
- Experience working with children (paid/unpaid)
- Completion and eligibility to undertake a ** Level 3 Early Years qualification**
Minimum Entry Qualification
- Currently undertaking or plan to undertake Level 2 early years qualification (within this role)
- Proven commitment to inclusivity and child-led learning

- The role operates during Q3 term-time only (summer/winter holidays are excluded).
