About the Role
We are looking for inspirational and impactful Nursery Assistants to help develop and enhance our Nursery, which caters for children aged 2 to pre-school (up to 5 years old). This is a full-time, all-year-round position, and we require candidates as soon as possible.
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Deep knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) principles and how children develop throughout this critical stage (ages 2–5).
- A proven ability to support children’s learning, development, and well-being.
- Strong initiative-taking skills, such as developing engaging educational activities and initiatives.
- Excellent organisation, communication, emotional intelligence, and creative problem-solving.
- A positive, proactive work ethic.

The Nursery sits within the leafy 60-acre campus shared by the Senior and Prep Schools, creating a strong sense of community. There are shared events, such as weekly whole-college assemblies, promoting a warm, inclusive culture where everyone feels valued.
Responsibilities
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and managing children’s learning in line with EYFS guidelines.
- Designing and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assisting with mealtimes, outdoor play, and large-group events.
- Supporting the team in maintaining a safeguarding-first, child-centred atmosphere.
- Collaborating with teachers to deliver a holistic and stimulating educational experience.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, health, and safety within the nursery environment.
Requirements
- Qualifications or credentials in Early Years, Teaching Assistancy, or Childcare are preferred (essential qualifications must reflect current UK standards).
- Proven experience working with young children in a nursery or early-years setting is essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and pastoral care, including full DBS clearance, is mandatory.
- Excellent skills in practical, administration, and communication.
- A strong willingness to engage positively with parents, families, and colleagues across the school community.
- Access to (or willingness to obtain):
- Enhanced DBS Check (disclosure paid for by the candidate).
- References must be provided upon completion of the recruitment process.
