We are looking for an inspirational Nursery Assistant.
This is a key role in our lovely Nursery and is as a result of increased demand for places ready for September.
Our new team member will ideally be qualified to work in the Early Years at Level 2 or above, and be willing to work with children of ages 2-4. The position is available from September 2026 and is permanent. We are able to offer full-time (term time, 8am-4.30pm every day) or part-time roles.
Our Nursery Assistants are Key Workers for small groups of children, communicating regularly with parents and on occasions, persons or agencies outside of school with regards to these children. They use EvidenceMe to write and record information for parents, and conduct observations using the Early Years Framework. Our Nursery team also attend Parents' Evenings twice per year and provide a short written report to parents at the end of the year.
Key parts of the role will include planning and setting up activities, assisting and managing the children in your care, actively promoting learning through play, and managing behaviour positively.
Our existing team are warm, approachable, and excited to meet their new colleague.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

It is an exciting time to be joining our school: we have just completed the building of an outdoor classroom adjoining our 10 acres of woods as we continue to invest in our beautiful rural site. We have also introduced a new Character and Values Education (CAVE) programme, which focuses on the themes of self-care, people-care and earth-care. This enhances our curriculum by providing a broader range of co-curricular opportunities to develop key life skills, community action, outdoor learning and pupil leadership.
At Castle Court, we believe that childhood should be cherished and be a time of great joy and growth. We want all the children at Castle Court to look back at their time at the school and say it was the best of times, but also that it helped make them the person they are today.
