About the Role
We’re seeking an inspiring leader to join our amazing team as an Assistant Nursery Manager at our Watford nursery. If you’re passionate about early years, love supporting people, and have the drive to help a nursery thrive, we’d love to hear from you!
As Assistant Nursery Manager, you’ll work alongside the Nursery Manager to:
- Lead the team and ensure the highest quality of care and education
- Promote the nursery and manage occupancy
- Help grow a nurturing, joy-filled environment for children, families, and staff

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure the nursery meets Ofsted, EYFS, and legislative standards.
- Conduct high-quality audits and provide hands-on support in practice areas.
- Inspire and Support the Team:
- Actively engage with children’s learning and development.
- Guide, develop, and uplift staff in daily practice, performance, and wellbeing.
- Drive Success and Growth:
- Collaborate with the Nursery Manager on budgets, occupancy, and staffing.
- Contribute to a thriving, high-quality setting for children and families.

Our nursery is conveniently located on Hempstead Road, just minutes from Watford town centre, Watford Junction, with easy access to the M25 and M1. Our spacious nursery offers a warm, nurturing environment where children can flourish.

Job Requirements:
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare
- Enhanced DBS check
- Desirable: higher childcare or management qualification (performance considered if you lack a management qualification, but essential experience in management/leadership is a must)
Safeguarding is non-negotiable! Candidates without relevant childcare experience or necessary qualifications will not be considered.
