Role Savings and Responsibilities
Office: Cedars Day Nursery Location: Leighton Buzzard, LU7 2PA Contract: Permanent, proceeding 37.5 hours/week, over 52 weeks/year.
Overview
Childbase Partnership has been setting the standard for childcare excellence since 1989. We provide a nurturing environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old across our 44 nurseries, training academy, and head office.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and serving wholesome, nutritious meals for up to 99 children, adhering to strict hygiene, dietary, and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
You will need to:
• Meal Preparation & Quality Assurance
- Prepare and cook varied, fresh, and healthy meals from a set menu.
- Cater for allergies and dietary requirements of children.
- Maintain five-star hygiene standards in alignment with COSHH, allergen, and environmental health policies.
- Ensure adherence to Food Hygiene training standards.
• Safeguarding & Welfare
- Advocate for the well-being and healthy eating education of children.
- Strictly follow safeguarding protocols to protect all children under your care.

• Budget & Team Management
- Collaborate with Nursery Managers to monitor kitchen budgets.
- Mentor and supervise a Kitchen Assistant.
- Cultivate respectful relationships with colleagues, children, and parents.
• General Operations
- adherence to manual handling best practices.
- Meticulous compliance with health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
About You
To thrive in this role:
- Catering experience is essential, particularly preparing meals for children.
- Passion for whole foods, dietary diversity, and child nutrition.
- Commitment to safety and hygiene practices, with documented certifications (e.g. Food Hygiene, COSHH, allergens).
- Team-oriented and mentoring ability—proven experience in fostering a supportive environment.
- Conscientious, detail-focused, and most importantly, child-centric.
