Deputy Manager – Bright Horizons Bank Street Day Nursery and Preschool
About the Role
Salary: Starting from £36,088 per annum (dependent on qualifications/experience)
Location: Canary Wharf, London

Bright Horizons is seeking a Deputy Manager to lead, mentor, and inspire a team at the Bank Street Day Nursery & Preschool, a purpose-built setting in Canary Wharf designed to offer a warm, welcoming "home-from-home" experience for children. With proximity to Jubilee Line and DLR stations, it’s the ideal location for professionals or those in London.

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team to deliver exceptional care, education, and child development
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), overseeing daily nursery operations and managing safeguarding/child protection policies
- Develop succession planning, oversee training and support staff professional development
- Nurture partnerships with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders (including Local Authority)
- Drive commercial success through staff retention, occupancy growth and sound financial management
Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 3 or higher Early Years qualification
- 1+ years’ experience in an Early Years leadership role (e.g., Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, Third in Charge)
- Proven experience leading a setting to achieve a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspection
- Confident decision-making with experience supporting and leading others
- Stong understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and regulatory requirements for working with children
- Ability to build trust and foster strong working relationships with staff, parents, and stakeholders
- Effective communication skills with children and adults of all ages
