Nursery Education Manager

Department: Nursery Management Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time Location: Chertsey, Surrey Reporting To: Joshua Rochester Compensation: £34,694 – £46,696 per year

As an Education Manager at N Family, you’ll support the Nursery Manager and lead a team of expert Educators to deliver outstanding education, brilliant customer service, and a thriving team culture. As an early years’ expert, you’ll drive passionate, innovative teaching, encourage inspiring learning environments, and ensure highly engaged teams.

In the absence of the Nursery Manager, you will step in as Manager in Charge, taking full responsibility for:

  • Operational delivery
  • Safeguarding
  • Statutory compliance Ensuring stability, safety, and quality are always maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, embed, and continuously elevate the quality of education through the N Curriculum and Pedagogy
  • Take full ownership of SEND provision, including:
    • Identification
    • Assessment
    • Personalised support planning
  • Champion safeguarding and wellbeing, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead when required
  • Regularly observe teaching practice, provide in-the-moment coaching, and role-model outstanding delivery
  • Provide structured feedback, mentoring, and 1:1 development to drive continuous professional growth across the team
  • Champion staff development through:
    • Mentoring
    • Coaching
    • Supervision
    • Participation in the N Academy
  • Support daily operational planning, including:
    • Routines
    • Learning environments
    • Ratios
    • Rotas
    • Ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality educational delivery
  • Bring passion, flexibility, and positivity to every task, helping N Family go beyond every single day

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in a nursery leadership position (preferably as a Deputy Manager, Third in Charge, or Nursery Manager)
  • Proven experience in:
    • Leading education within an EYFS setting
    • Delivering learning at Strong or Exceptional Levels (Ofsted Rating)
  • Strong track record in:
    • Raising teaching quality
    • Coaching teams through continuous improvement
  • Ability to:
    • Inspire passionate teams
    • Provide challenging yet supportive growth
    • Navigate and implement change confidently
  • Experience in providing consistent and exceptional customer service
  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
  • Paediatric First Aid (12-hour course) completion, with an ongoing commitment to compliance
  • Relevant safeguarding/child protection training, plus a willingness to update regularly
  • A genuine passion for education and changing the lives of children
  • Strong communication skills to engage with:
    • Parents
    • External professionals
    • Colleagues
    • Children
