Nursery Manager – Northumberland Day Nursery

Location: Northumberland Salary (based on 45 hours): £41,500–£43,880 (depending on experience) Hours: 40–45 per week

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our warm, welcoming and nurturing setting. At our Northumberland nursery, children thrive, staff feel valued, and we take pride in delivering high-quality care and education. We are looking for a strong leader who shares our commitment to excellence and child-centred learning.

Main Role and Responsibilities

As a Nursery Manager, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a team to deliver outstanding early years care and education
  • Ensure compliance with the EYFS framework and safeguarding regulations
  • Support, develop, and motivate staff through strong leadership and guidance
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and the local community
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, maintaining high standards of safety and care
  • Monitor children’s learning and development to ensure high-quality practice
  • Collaborate with the wider leadership team to drive the nursery’s growth and success

Requirements

✔ Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent ✔ Deep understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices ✔ Previous leadership or managerial experience in an early years setting ✔ Excellent communication and team leadership skills ✔ Strong commitment to delivering high-quality childcare and education ✔ Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
