£32,000 to £35,000 per annum plus termly bonus

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their early development. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, ensure high standards of childcare, and foster a nurturing environment for children and staff alike. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, organising programmes, and promoting a positive organisational culture.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team performance
  • Develop and implement educational programmes that promote early childhood development in line with best practices
  • Oversee daily nursery operations, including enrolment, attendance, and health & safety protocols
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to keep them informed about their children's progress and nursery activities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and policies governing childcare services
  • Manage budgets, resources, and supplies efficiently to support smooth nursery functioning
  • Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment that supports the wellbeing of children and staff alike
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided

Experience

  • Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Extensive experience working directly with children in childcare or educational environments
  • Strong understanding of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and early childhood curriculum frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and external agencies
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting resources or attending external meetings or events
