Aktiva Nurseries and Pre-school, operated by AKTIVA NURSERIES LIMITED, is a childcare provider based in Great Brickhill, focuses on delivering safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments for young children, supporting their early years development and learning. Highfield House Aktiva Nurseries and Pre-school works in partnership with families and local communities to provide consistent, high-quality care and education. Team members are encouraged to contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere where children can thrive and grow.
Role Description
The Nursery Practitioner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Great Brickhill. The Nursery Practitioner will support children’s daily routines, including play, learning activities, meals, and rest times, ensuring that each child’s emotional and physical needs are met. - Planning and delivering age-appropriate opportunities
- Observing and recording children’s progress
- Contributing to a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of safeguarding, hygiene, and health and safety
- Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers about children’s development
- Participating in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications
- Experience or training in early years education or childcare, with knowledge of child development and learning through play
- Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate activities that support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with understanding of relevant policies and procedures
- Organizational and time management skills to support daily routines, record keeping, and a well-prepared learning environment
- Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy nursery setting
- Relevant childcare or early years qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent) is highly desirable
- Up-to-date enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one, and eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
