Job Description: Qualified/Nursery Practitioner (Level 3 or Level 2 + Apprenticeship Pathway)
Hours & Working Pattern
- Part-time: 30 hours per week
- Contract: 12:00pm – 6:00pm, 52 weeks per year
- Extended hours reflect nursery opening: 7:45am – 6:00pm, Mon–Fri, 46 weeks/year
- Salary structure noted as pro-rated for part-time hours.

The Role: Staff Nurse Practitioner
Job Title: Nursery Practitioner (Level 3) OR Level 2 Practitioner (Apprenticeship-enabled)
The school partners with the Apprenticeship Programme for Level 2 candidates seeking to develop to Level 3 in Early Childhood Education.
Primary Focus: Nursery (Mon–Fri, 12pm-6pm) Core Responsibilities include:
- Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Vigilant adherence to safeguarding policies, ensuring environments reflect highest care standards; maintaining clear records (paper + digital).
- Childcare & Development: Collaborating with the Class Teacher to craft stimulating, child-centred learning environments—outdoor + indoor—tailored to individual growth.
- Support & Leadership: Champion a positive, proactive approach, with leadership qualities to mentor peers, facilitate professional exchange, and step into coverage when required (often due to team schedules).
- Inclusivity: Celebrate diversity in ability, background, and beliefs, embedding these values in daily routines.
- Professional Commitment: Encouragement of continuous professional development, ready to share practice within the school community.

✅ Ideal Candidate Background
- Eligibility 1: Level 3 Qualified Practitioner or Level 2 Practitioner committed to completing the Level 3 course through the school’s apprenticeship sponsorship scheme.
- Leading by Example: A role model with passion for early years education, a nurturing mindset, and a firm belief that children’s development is central.
- Skills & Competence:
- Safeguarding Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safeguarding principles, evidenced by certification (e.g. Ofsted Level 2/3).
- Leadership & Team Dynamics: A confident collaborator working seamlessly with colleagues to deliver high-quality care, capable of backing up class structure in emergencies.
- Pen-and-Paper Skills: Clear documentation and a professional standard of record-keeping.
