Nursery Teacher: Maternity Cover

Location: Roehampton, SW15

Contract: Full-time Maternity Cover Start Date: September

Salary: MPS (dependent on experience)

A welcoming and nurturing mainstream primary school in Roehampton is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join their Early Years team on a full-time maternity cover contract starting in September.

The Role Will Involve

  • Full classroom responsibilities, including planning, assessment, marking, and reporting
  • Delivering creative, engaging, and play-based learning aligned with the EYFS Framework
  • Supporting children’s communication, language, social, and emotional development
  • Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborating with support staff, parents, and the wider school community to ensure outstanding outcomes for pupils
  • Attending staff meetings and contributing to school life

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching within Early Years, ideally in a Nursery setting
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Be nurturing, creative, and passionate about early childhood education
  • Possess excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Have a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
