Nursery Practitioner (Level 3)

Location: Ridgeway, The Thicket, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3QE

Salary: £32,000 gross per annum

Required: August/September 2026

About The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our school team, working with children aged 2-4 years. This is a full-time, all-year-round position, working 42.5 hours per week between 7:30am and 6:00pm.

You will play a key role in providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and develop through structured play and engaging activities. The role will also include supporting Extended Day Care when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of children at all times
  • Encourage learning and development through play-based activities
  • Support children with meals, snacks, and personal care routines
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development
  • Prepare and maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating learning environment
  • Ensure equipment is safe, clean, and suitable for children’s needs
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and support wider nursery activities when required

Person Specification

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Early Years
  • Previous experience working within an early years setting
  • Good standard of English and numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive, reliable, and proactive approach
  • A genuine commitment to children’s learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within an early years environment
