main duties & responsibilities

Be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional, depending on the setting).
- Focus should be on promoting health and independence.
- Must align with the NHS Values.

Exhibit accountable professionalism and maintain proficient attitudes and behaviours.

Work as part of a designated clinical and care team, ensuring care is tailored to the individual needs of patients.

Perform clinical and care tasks with high competence, supervised by a registered nurse or other eligible professional, or (when appropriately experienced) deliver care independently following the individual’s care plan.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of Nursing Associate role parameters and refer to clinical advice when needed.

experience (Essential Criteria)
- Proven experience of collaborating in a multidisciplinary team under appropriate supervision.
- Ability to self-critically evaluate strengths and development needs, seeking guidance as needed.
- Exposure to delivering/harmonising complex, sensitive patient information with clarity.
desirable criteria
- Experience in mentoring or supervising less experienced team members for skill development.
skills & knowledge (essential criteria)
- Clear understanding of the Nursing Associate role, including its scope within broader nursing and allied health teams.
- Ability to align with NMC professional standards (The Code) and NHS values.
- Knowledge of NMC Revalidation requirements.
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal, non-verbal), applicable to:
- Patients and families
- All multidisciplinary team members
qualifications
- Registered Nursing Associate with the NMC (*referenced against paediatric experience).
- GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English (or English and Maths Functional Skills Level 2 equivalent).

- Holding a Level 3 Health-related qualification enhances your application.
