About the Role
The Nursing Support Worker plays a crucial role in the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), working under the direction of Registered Nurses. This role involves a variety of interventions to support patient care, including:
- Direct, compensatory nursing care (in line with observation and engagement policies)
- Monitoring of physical health
- Psychosocial interventions in community and home settings
Successful candidates contribute significantly to patient recovery pathways by:
- Providing role modelling in effective communication and relationships
- Supporting diagnostic assessment and Care & Treatment Plans through direct patient engagement
Position Details
Location: Bryngofal Ward, Mental Health Services, Carmarthen (Adult Acute Inpatient Unit)
Key Responsibilities
- Work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team across 24-hour/365 days a year operations
- Deliver supportive bedside and community-based care
- Assist in multi-professional assessments and implementation of Car & Treatment Plans
- Role model professional behaviours (communication, empathy, collaboration)
