The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit
The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a motivated and dedicated team working within an ever-evolving area of policing. This role offers the chance to tackle online Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), alongside responding to a wide range of Serious Organised Crime (SOC). The successful applicant will play a vital role in protecting vulnerable people, pursuing offenders and contributing proactively in a challenging yet highly rewarding environment.
PIP 1 – PIP 2 pathway role
Successful applicants will be required to sit the NIE and begin the PIP 2 pathway within two years of taking up the role.
About the Role
The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales. The NWROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the North West region to deliver the Government’s serious and organised Crime strategy and to protect communities from harm.

Key Details
- The post is subject to an initial secondment of two years reviewable based on continuous funding and performance.
- Further developments in NWROCU’s capabilities are anticipated in the future.
- Applications received for Operational roles that require mandatory Officer Safety/First Aid training must hold valid in date training or able to undertake upon application.
- Successful applicants working within NWROCU will be subject to MV (Management Vetting) and SC (Security Clearance) prior to taking up post.
