OBP Facilitator
Interventions Facilitator – Full-Time, Permanent (37 Hours/Week)
Location: HMP Ashfield, Pucklechurch, Bristol, BS16 9QJ Salary: £28,410 per annum plus company benefits Hours: 08:00–16:00 (Mon–Thu), 08:00–15:30 (Fri)

At HMP Ashfield, we provide safe, supportive, and rehabilitative environments for those in our care. We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Interventions Facilitator to support prisoners in making meaningful, lasting changes to their behaviour.
As an Interventions Facilitator, you will deliver accredited offending behaviour programmes to individuals and groups, working closely with national guidelines to ensure rehabilitation success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured group and individual sessions using core psychological principles and motivational techniques
- Assess participants to determine treatment readiness and identify responsivity needs
- Maintain accurate records, including session notes, post-programme reports, and debriefs
- Engage positively with participants to encourage behavioural change
- Adhere to the 6 core competencies for effective facilitation:
- Application of theories and principles
- Responsive content delivery
- Encouragement in group settings
- Collaborative teamwork
- Effective session planning
- Ongoing professional development
- Attend supervision, complete mandatory training, and engage in continuous professional growth
- Promote awareness of intervention programmes and contribute to staff training
- Support broader establishment objectives as required

What You’ll Need
Essential Experience & Skills
✔ Experience in facilitating group work or working with challenging client groups ✔ Strong written and verbal communication skills ✔ Ability to build rapport and motivate resistant individuals ✔ Excellent organizational skills and workload management ✔ A reflective, growth-focused approach and strong teamwork

Desirable (But Not Essential)
🔹 Forensic or psychological intervention experience 🔹 Knowledge of accredited offending behaviour programmes 🔹 Awareness of offending behaviour theories (e.g., "what works" literature) 🔹 Understanding of diversity, responsivity, and risk management 🔹 Relevant qualifications in psychology, social care, or related fields
