Obs / Gynae Sonographer – Sunderland

Hey Baby 4D is a leading private 4D ultrasound clinic franchise, and we are delighted to be opening a new clinic in Sunderland. We are currently seeking an experienced and registered Obs / Gynae Sonographer to join our team, working on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound scans, while providing an exceptional, patient-centred experience to our clients.

Job Description

At Hey Baby 4D, our Sonographer will champion a patient-focused approach to care, ensuring all client areas are safe and fit for purpose. You will be tasked with a variety of duties involving complex and sensitive information, acting as the patient’s advocate while maintaining their dignity at all times.

Our team prioritises exceptional customer care, and we seek someone who is customer-oriented and committed to putting heart and compassion into every interaction. You will need to empathise with our clients, recognising the sensitive nature of attending a pregnancy scan, whether it’s their first or twentieth. Striving to create a positive, supportive, and enjoyable experience for every customer is essential.

We welcome applications from qualified sonographers currently based in the UK. We are looking for someone to work full-time, with the role requiring weekend and evening work.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting a variety of prenatal scans, including early pregnancy reassurance, sex confirmation, and late pregnancy 4D scans
  • Producing high-quality ultrasound images and videos
  • Maintaining accurate records and providing high-quality referrals when necessary
  • Performing phlebotomy services for NIPT and Early Gender Blood Tests (training will be provided if you are not already trained)
  • Collaborating with the management team and reception to ensure an outstanding client experience
  • Upholding a high standard of patient care at all times
  • Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the clinic

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must be a qualified and experienced Sonographer with a thorough understanding of ultrasound practices, and be registered with either the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council), GMC (General Medical Council), or BMUS (British Medical Ultrasound Society).

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a strong patient-centred approach. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role is required, along with available references.

Additional Information

Due to the high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond to all applicants.

  • Location: The post holder will primarily be based in Sunderland but may need to travel to neighbouring towns to support other clinics when required.
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: Based on experience
  • Schedule: 5 days per week – both Saturday and Sunday every weekend.
  • Work Location: In person – Sunderland
