Location: Bristol, Hybrid

We're looking for an Observability Engineer to join our Global Operations Support Systems team at Computershare.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a global team responsible for the monitoring platforms that support our technology estate across every region and business unit. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms while developing your technical expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment.

A role you will love
The primary purpose of the Observability Engineer role is to deliver quality monitoring platforms and services, which the wider audience can access to leverage and gain insight into their infrastructure and application performance and capacity through well-designed and maintained monitoring platforms.
You will have the opportunity to operate on a fully remote basis and manage your work and time as you see fit.
Some Key Responsibilities
- Fulfill day-to-day tasks, as allocated, and provide technical guidance across the team, management, and business stakeholders globally
- Technical management and maintenance of Computershare monitoring toolsets.
- A core responsibility of the role is to ensure the Monitoring Engineer is providing input into the technical direction, monitoring standards, policies, and reporting on the services we provide.
- Working closely with key internal stakeholders, the Monitoring Engineer is to ensure their requests are met and communication on the delivery of services is reset to agreed dates.
- Other Systems Management duties or tasks, as assigned by management, will occur on this high-demand team; therefore, flexibility in the role will be required to be successful.

What will you bring to the role?
You will have strong working experience with advanced monitoring concepts, application monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, automation, good troubleshooting skills, and reporting.
It would be great if you have experience working with peers and stakeholders across various global locations, as you will need to collaborate effectively to ensure we are delivering what is required for our customers and the business.
Other Key Skills Required For The Role Include
- Enterprise Systems Monitoring, spanning infrastructure, Application Performance Monitoring, and modern log-style tooling
- Automation of processes (e.g., scripting, Azure Automation)
- Experience coding
- Client/Server technologies, with a core focus on Microsoft Server technologies
- LAN/WAN/Internet/Extranet network technologies
- Service Desk ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
Non-Technical Skills
- Keeps knowledge up to date, is a technical resource for others, follows technology practices and standards.
- Able to follow set processes & procedures and highlight potential improvements (inc. Change Management)
- Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
