OCC Communications Officer

OCC Communications Officer – 2027 Intake Role

We are actively recruiting for future posts in 2027. If successful, you will join our 2027 intake.

Shift Pattern:

  • 12-hour shifts, including days and nights
  • Rotating pattern: 4 shifts on (2 days, 2 nights), followed by 4 shifts off

About Warwickshire Police

Warwickshire Police serves an estimated population of nearly 600,000 people, handling over 90,000 emergency calls annually—plus many more non-emergency cases. This role helps build trust and safety across Warwickshire’s diverse communities.

As an OCC Control Room ** Communications Officer, your day will be anything but ordinary. One minute you’ll tackle a stolen vehicle report, the next an armed robbery. You may also resolve calls independently—offering advice and comfort without dispatching officers. If you thrive under pressure, can quickly gather information, and stay calm when it counts—your voice can make all the difference.

The control room operates 24/7, creating a high-intensity, fast-paced environment. However, helping people in their darkest moments is incredibly rewarding. Your compassion and professionalism could be the difference between chaos and clarity.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Stay calm under pressure
  • Excel in multitasking and attention to detail
  • Have teamwork and communication skills
  • Seek career progression (expectation to reach Controller role)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
