We are looking for an Occupational Health Advisor to deliver Occupational Health & Wellbeing services in support of all staff across our Southern Region, with the need for occasional overnight stays, supported with the provision of a company van and meal allowances. You'll be part of the supportive in-house team, responsible for the delivery of an efficient and effective health surveillance programme and integral working partner for the ongoing development of Occupational Health and Wellbeing expansion at SGN.
As an Occupational Health Advisor, you’ll deliver a first-class, evidence-based OH service across our business. Reporting to the Head of Occupational Health & Wellbeing, you’ll work alongside a growing multidisciplinary team of OH Technicians, and Wellbeing Leads.
This is a fast-paced role in an ever-changing environment that will require regular travel across the South SGN Patch. We deliver safety, warmth, and comfort to homes and businesses. - Delivering our health surveillance programme across SGN South
- Providing timely, accurate and appropriate advice to the business on all matters relating to health and wellbeing within legal and best practise guidelines
- Supporting the Lead Nurse and Head of OH in the ongoing development of policies and procedures
- You will manage your own workload and that of the OH Technicians, maintaining weekly MI and escalating trends to the Head of OH
- Actively refer staff to interventions, support services or signposting to maintain or improve health and wellbeing
- Work closely with Operations, HR and other key directorates and stakeholders to ensure Occupational Health can deliver, collaborate, influence and drive engagement
- You will provide full end to end service including case work, assessments, face fittings etc.
- Working as part of a continuously growing and developing department, delivering a vital service to our staff
What you will need
- NMC registration (Part 3 of the register) & SCPHN OH Qualification
- Experience in health surveillance and case management
- Familiar UK OH legislation, HSE guidelines, and FOM best practice
- A proactive mindset — you’ll be someone who doesn’t just identify health risks, but actively helps solve them
- Excellent communication and digital skills, with confidence in clinical systems and data-driven reporting
- You have a key understanding of data and understand the importance of accurate reporting
- An accredited tier 3 HAVS qualification is desirable but not essential – you will be expected to work towards this in the role
